ArtsWells Online: A Virtual Festival of All Things Art celebrates the 17th season of ArtsWells, an annual event presented by Island Mountain Arts (est.1977) in the small Cariboo community of Wells and Barkerville.
ArtsWells Online features close to 40 artists and is a major celebration of BC talent with almost the entire line up featuring artists from all over the province. Get ready for special performances from festival favourites like High Society, Parlour Panther, Kitty & the Rooster, Ostwelve, Missy D, The Carnival Band, Balkan Shmalkan, Kia Kadiri and Geoff Berner.
The virtual event keeps the spirit of ArtsWells alive with classic festival events like the parade. Diversity is also a key part of ArtsWells and we are honoured to have Indigenous curator Meeka Noelle Morgan, founder of the all Indigenous Festival Q’EMCIN 2 RIVERS REMIX, curate a number of exciting new Indigenous acts for us to share like Janaye Floyd and Brandon Peters.
Originally broadcast over two evenings on Wednesday, July 29 and Wednesday, August 5, the content was built to be re-broadcast in a number of different forms. Almost all the artists were pre-recorded, thus we could look at re-releasing stand alone videos, or simply re-broadcasting the stream through SoundOn.
We can discuss what will work best for SoundOn to ensure the best coverage for all the artists involved.
